If you are interested in children's literacy, value quality educational books that kids love to read, and are looking for a business with a low start up cost, you'll want to take a closer look at Usborne Books. If you are looking to get started in a business, this is a business I know you can get back your initial investment quickly. When I came across Usborne Books I already was busy with other business ventures, but since we homeschool, the idea of getting a lifetime discount and getting a free curriculum was very appealing. I decided that even if I didn't have time to work the business very much, I really had nothing to lose. My first month I made back my investment, earned some money, and received $400 in free books! So even though Usborne Books is not my primary company, I feel confident that it is a great company and worth putting in the time and effort to build a comfortable income from home. The only disadvantage, is that you really do need to work from home rather than at home. What I mean by that is that to move up the compensation plan and benefit from building a team, you do need to have a fairly high volume of sales. Conducting book parties and book fairs are the way almost all distributors achieve most of their sales volume to do this. Some people enjoy a little time out of the house conducting parties and book fairs, so if that sounds like you, this may be a business you want to consider. BookWiseOne of the reasons that BookWise caught my attention when they first launched is that I love books and am an avid reader – particularly of business, self-development and inspirational books. At the time I thought BookWise was a great concept for a business.... but dismissed it because I felt they didn't have enough selection of books at that point - and they were only just starting. I know from being in the industry for over 7 years, the growing pains a new company can go through and the high failure rate in the early stages. So I just put it on the back burner and went on building my other businesses. However, about a year later at the end of 2007, BookWise was brought to my attention again and I was informed that they had recently partnered with Baker and Taylor, the world's largest distributor of Entertainment, and are rapidly expanding the bookstores. So...I took another look and was impressed with what they have to offer. However, BookWise
has announced some pretty big changes in the compensation plan and
structure of the company for June 2008. It is switching from a network
marketing structure to a two-tier affiliate program. Look for more

Preferred Sponsor List One of the things we teach is "sponsor shopping", which is basically looking for a good person in your chosen company who knows what he or she is doing and will help you as you get started. Since I not only work with people who are looking for a business, but help people who have already chosen a primary business be more successful, I have put together a list of people I know who are actively and effectively building their primary businesses. For example, if I have someone who knows they would like to find a health and nutritional company and has narrowed down the companies he is interested in, I can give him someone to talk to who will be able to help him, in those particular companies. The people I include on my preferred sponsor list must meet qualifications so this is a win-win for everyone. This is by no
means an exhaustive list. There are many great companies out there.
There are simply things to look for including; timing, management,
compensation plan, sponsor and team, competitive product/service,
etc. Again - let me assist you through this mine field -with myself
as your personal guide.
