"I began looking into finding a home business about one year before my third child was born. Prior to that, I had always wanted to stay home with my son and then with my older daughter, but I didn’t think it was possible. My salary as a teacher was our higher source of income and I carried our health insurance through my teaching position. I looked forward to every holiday and dreaded their endings because I loved the time with my children. Although I loved teaching, I wanted to spend my day with my children instead of other people's children.

I started a home business with a major health and nutrition company, but didn’t do very well in the almost 2 years I persevered and tried to get things going. When the administrators at the new school district I had begun teaching at decided to deny my tenure because at 7 months pregnant, they felt I wasn’t involved in extra-curricular activities enough, I no longer had a teaching position. Believe it or not, it was the best thing that every happened! I decided at that point that I was going to make a home business work for me rather than look for another teaching position. I taught art classes in my home and continued with the other business I had started. Since I needed to bring in a higher income than these businesses were giving me to continue to stay home with my children, I started looking at other options.

I was fortunate to connect with some great people, and learned a lot. Network Marketing is a great business, but it does take time and you need the right training. I was told in my first business to just follow their system, but unfortunately when you do that, you often end up following methods that really aren't market tested or duplicatible. Learning what works and what doesn't, and being able to develop the skills necessary to build a business in any solid company, and knowing how to choose which ones are solid, has made the difference for me and the people I work with.

Recently I have become a single mom. Fortunately I have built my home business to the point where I can support my children and continue homeschooling. This has made the transition for the children much easier than it could have been.

One of my newest passions is to help other single moms to see that homeschooling and/or a home business is possible for them, and provide the resources and guidance to help them reach their goals.

Now I homeschool my three children and work my business around them, continue building multiple income streams, help others do the same, and am looking at a great future."
